Description

Composition:
Each tablet contains:

Praziquantel – 600mg.

Excipients: corn starch, polyvinylpyrrolidone, sodium lauryl sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide.

Properties:
Praziquantel causes rapid contraction of schistosomes (a type of parasite) by specifically affecting cell membrane permeability. The drug also induces vacuolation and disintegration of the schistosome tegument.

Indications:
For the treatment of infections caused by all species of schistosomes (e.g., Schistosoma mekongi, Schistosorna japonicum, Schistosoma mansoni, and Schistosoma hematobium), as well as infections caused by liver fluke.

Directions for use:
The recommended dosage for the treatment of schistosomiasis is 20 mg/kg of body weight three times daily as a single daily treatment, administered at intervals of 4-6 hours. The recommended dosage for clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis is 25 mg/kg of body weight three times daily as a single daily treatment, administered at intervals of 4-6 hours. Tablets should be taken with water during meals.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
