Description

Compound: Each tablet contains:

Analgin – 300 mg.

Caffeine – 100mg.

Ergotamine tartrate – 1mg.

Auxiliary components: talc, magnesium stearate, starch.

Properties: Ergotamine tartrate is the most effective migraine pain reliever. Its effect is further enhanced by caffeine and analgin, it has an analgesic effect that helps relieve pain attacks.

Indications: symptomatic treatment and prevention of migraine attacks and other types of headache. Histamine cephalgia and occipital neuralgia.

Mode of application: to prevent an acute attack, take 1 to 4 tablets daily. One dose (1 to 2 tablets) is enough to prevent an attack in most cases (or as directed by a physician).

Contraindications: peripheral vascular disease, coronary heart disease, impaired renal or hepatic function, and during pregnancy.

Side effects: increased risk of agranulocytosis and shock development. Changes in heart rate, nausea, vomiting, weakness of the legs, muscle pain in the limbs, numbness and tingling in the fingers and toes, localized swelling, itching.

Drug interaction: Taking ergotamine and macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin leads to ergotism (poisoning of the human body with ergot alkaloids). Ergotamine should not be administered to patients receiving sumatriptan until 6 hours have passed after discontinuation of the drug.

Precautionary measures: Addiction may develop insidiously if ergotamine tartrate is used more than 2 days per week, even if the general recommendations for daily or weekly dosing are followed. Hypersensitivity and abnormal white blood cells may occur during treatment with this drug. If the patient feels unwell during long-term treatment, the number of leukocytes should be checked and, in case of a decrease in the content of granulocytes, the drug should be discontinued. The drug contains analgin, which can cause agranulocytosis. The drug should not be given to children. Pregnancy and lactation: should not be used by pregnant and lactating mothers, as these substances are excreted in breast milk.

Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C in a dry place out of the reach of children.
