Description
Compound: Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
Ibuprofen – 100mg.
Auxiliary components: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, refined sugar, granulated citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate, agar powder, glycerin, 70% sorbitol solution, light kaolin, Polysorbitol 80, sunset yellow, orange flavor, purified water.
Properties: Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal and antirheumatic agent, a propionic acid derivative. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activity.
Indications: Treatment of various arthrosis such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, fibrosis, back pain, soft tissue injuries such as sprains and deformities, various inflammations of the tendons, joint capsules. As an analgesic for the relief of mild to moderate pain, dysmenorrhea, dental, postoperative and postpartum pain and for the symptomatic relief of headaches, including migraine. Brufen syrup is indicated for the short-term treatment of hyperthermia in children from 3 months of age.
Mode of application: Adults and adolescents: The recommended dose is 1200-1800 mg per day in divided doses. Some patients can take 600-1200 mg per day. The total daily dose should not exceed 2400 mg. Children: The recommended dose of Brufen syrup is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight in divided doses. Children from 3-6 months (5-7 kg) 2.5 ml 3 times a day. From 6 to 12 months (7-10 kg) 2.5 ml 3 times a day. From 1 to 2 years (10-14.5 kg) 2.5 ml 3-4 times a day. From 3 to 7 years (14.5-25 kg) 5 ml 3-4 times a day. From 8 to 12 years (25-40 kg) 10 ml 3-4 times a day. Take orally, shake the bottle thoroughly before use. May be taken on an empty stomach for a quick effect. Patients with sensitive stomachs are advised to take ibuprofen with food. In rheumatoid arthritis, the daily dose may be increased to 40 mg/kg body weight per day in severe cases. In children weighing less than 30 kg, the total daily dose of Brufen syrup should not exceed 500 mg.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the excipients. If previously identified hypersensitivity reactions to ibuprofen, aspirin. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation associated with previous NSAID therapy. Active or a history of recurrent peptic ulcer, patients with an increased tendency to bleeding, with cardiovascular disease, severe heart, liver and kidney failure. Last trimester of pregnancy.
Precautionary measures: It is recommended to use the lowest effective dose required to relieve symptoms. During long-term treatment, monitoring of peripheral blood and the state of the liver and kidneys is necessary. With caution in bronchial asthma due to the risk of developing bronchospasm, patients with a rare hereditary problem of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine. Brufen contains 13 g of sucrose, which should be taken into account in patients with diabetes. Suspension contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sunset yellow (E 110), which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Ibuprofen affects ovulation, disrupting female reproductive function (reversible after discontinuation of treatment).
Side effects: Gastrointestinal diseases, gastric and duodenal ulcers, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, abdominal pain, ulcerative stomatitis, exacerbation of colitis, gastritis. A temporary burning sensation in the mouth or throat may occur when taking ibuprofen suspension. Hypersensitivity reactions. Exacerbation of inflammatory processes associated with infection caused by NSAIDs (should consult a doctor). During chickenpox, serious skin infections and soft tissue complications can occur. Edema, increased blood pressure and heart disease. The use of ibuprofen, especially at high doses (2400 mg/day), increases the risk of myocardial infarction or stroke. Pregnancy and lactation: Not recommended for use during pregnancy. May be excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Therefore, it is recommended to stop breast-feeding during the use of the drug.
Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C in a place protected from light and out of the reach of children.
