Description
Compound: 1 g of lotion contains:
Betamethasone dipropionate – 0.64 mg.
Salicylic acid – 20 mg.
Properties: betamethasone dipropionate is a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive effects. Salicylic acid has keratolytic properties, and also has a bacteriostatic and fungicidal effect.
Indications: to alleviate the inflammatory manifestations of psoriasis and seborrhea of the scalp, to alleviate the inflammatory manifestations of lesions not associated with the scalp, psoriasis and other corticosteroid-sensitive dermatoses.
Mode of application: apply a few drops of lotion to the affected area, gently and thoroughly massage the scalp or skin on another part of the body. Frequency of use – daily, morning and evening. For some patients, adequate maintenance therapy can be achieved with less frequent use.
Contraindications: in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the composition in history, tuberculous and viral skin lesions, perioral dermatitis.
Precautionary measures: if excessive dryness, irritation or sensitization develops when using the lotion, treatment should be discontinued. If infection is present, appropriate therapy is indicated. Any of the side effects may also trigger corticosteroids, especially in infants and children. Systemic absorption of corticosteroids or salicylic acid will be increased if extensive body surfaces are treated. The use of salicylic acid on open wounds or damaged skin should be avoided. Avoid getting the lotion in the eyes and mucous membranes.
Side effects: burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis. When using occlusive dressings, the following can most often occur: skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, stretch marks and militia. Salicylic acid preparations can cause dermatitis. Pregnancy and lactation: since the safety of topical corticosteroids in pregnant women and breastfeeding has not been established, this class of drug should only be used if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C in a dry place out of the reach of children. For external use only.
